Our Goats

We raise registered Boer goats. A few members of our herd are highlighted below.

Our Bucks

main frameWe added WH7 MAIN FRAME 9B05 to our herd in 2010. His sire is 2007 ABGA and IBGA National Reserve Champion, SWE Main Event *Ennobled*. His dam's grandparents are EGGSFILE *Ennobled*, DSM WOBBLES *Ennobled, HMR Sumo *Ennobled and PBL Cleopatra (Kaptein *Ennobled x Frances).

Main Frame is extremely growthy and long-bodied with correct structure. We have been extremely pleased with the kids he produces with our best does and have used him again in our fall 2011 breeding schedule.

Our Does

Our doe herd consists of an assortment of bloodlines and are structurally correct with excellent maternal characteristics and produce hardy, fast growing kids.

annaAnna is one of our favorite does - she is a large framed, correct doe with many ennobled animals in her pedigree, including EGGSfile, Sasquatch, Hilltop 16R, Ubora, Tsjaka, and Downen Big 85. More importantly, she produces outstanding, fast growing, heavily muscled kids and is an excellent mother. All of her buck kids to date have been stud quality and excellent examples of the breed. All of Anna's doe kids to date have been retained in our herd.

russiaRussia is a new addition to our herd and we are excited to add her genetics to our breeding program. Her sire is S G R Stress Test (Ryals Topbrass *Ennobled x S G R Brass Eggs) and her dam is LBCS Bates V25 (sired by a full sibling to JRA1 Agnew's Collateral Damage *Ennobled). She is due in April with kids from Fern Hollow Farm Z9060 (AABG Status Quo x a RRD Red Ruger T307 *Ennobled daughter).

chanelChanel No. 5 is a substantial, heavily muscled young doe sired by Trouble who boasts ABGA National Champion Pipeline as her maternal great-grandsire.

About our Husbandry Practices

Our Herd

Our herd consists primarily of Fullblood and Purebred Boer goats, but we have a few high quality percentage does as well. Our goats exemplify the breed standards and our herd represents some of the best genetics in the country.

In choosing our foundation stock, we searched for breeding programs that emphasized heavy muscling, length, depth of body, strong top line and legs, correct bite and teat structure, and excellent maternal ability.

Our Health Management

For the health of our herd, we vaccinate annually for over-eating disease, perform routine FAMACHA checks and deworm on an as-needed basis. We also strive to maintain a disease-free herd and test our animals for CAE, CL and Johne's.

Our Nutrition

Mature goats are rotationally grazed and browsed throughout the summer and receive high quality hay for the balance of the year.

Kids are offered a pelleted creep feed before two weeks of age and we provide pressed protein and mineral blocks to all of our goats to ensure a balanced diet.

Our Kidding Practices

We breed most of our does to kid from December through February and have had excellent success. Our does birth without assistance or separation from the herd, our kids thrive without heat lamps in often sub-zero temperatures, and are healthy and happily bouncing around the barn within hours.
