Five week old kids

News Update, February 2008

Our kids have arrived and are doing great!  We had two sets of triplets, three singles, and the rest were twins.  We will have buck kids available for sale starting in April and will be kidding out more does starting in May.

Thank you to all who used our shearing services again last year.  If you want to get your farm on our schedule, please contact us soon, as shearing appointments will be limited this year.

The second annual Llama Show at the Three County Fair in Northampton was an overwhelming success again this year.  We all had a great time, thanks to our wonderful exhibitors, sponsors and volunteers.  We were especially fortunate to have Hank Kauffman as our ALSA judge, Jan and Ron Brown as our clerk and announcer, Jeff Litishin as our gate keeper, Mac Litishin as our pooper-scooper and ring runner, and Kally and Len Cotton as ring crew, photographer, bringers of breakfast, and anything else that was needed.  There were many others who made this year's show bigger and better than last year and we couldn't have done it without you.  Thank You!

We attended the Big E and the Durham Fair in the fall with six llamas and did quite well.  A few of our highlights were:
Grand Champion Non-Breeder (Toledo)
Grand Champion Light Wool Male (Torronto)
Grand Champion Heavy Wool Male (Carter)
Grand Champion Performance Llama (Toledo)
Reserve Champion Medium Wool Male (Silver)
Reserve Champion Performance Llama (Santana)

During the last weekend of October, we participated in the Cornell Sheep & Goat Symposium in Ithaca, NY.  The speakers were excellent, the topics were varied, and there were a range of participants from all segments of the industry.  In addition to the educational aspects of the program, the food was wonderful.
